Since I could walk, I had an extraordinary fascination with makeup that always seemed to grow alongside me. I'd disappear from my family at shopping malls and even though losing a 4-year-old kid at a shopping mall full of foot traffic and strangers can be really scary, it wasn't a problem if that kid was me! Though everyone knew where to find me (MAC or Sephora, of course), the makeup look I'd be walking out with next always remained a mystery. From going to Kindergarten in princess dresses, heels, and whatever eyeshadow look I chose to do, to matching my eyeshadow to my shirt everyday in elementary school, to my first base routine in middle school that would soon turn into creative, pictorial eyeshadow looks at 4:30 AM before first period in high school, finally, little DeQueen and I have accomplished great things thanks to makeup. One of those things now being a makeup professor!

  The magical feeling of makeup artistry is too beautiful to conceal (no pun intended). It's such an obtainable fairytale when you have the right outlet to it. Having an accessible community of people who share the same fascination and hunger as you, despite the obstacles life away from your computer screen is throwing at you is such a priceless, prosperous experience. Queen Academy being that outlet, stepping into the magical world of makeup, dreams, and creativity just got a lot easier! Artists like myself walked so you can fly through. Here's to the beginning or peak of your story.
